SPEARMAN - Mary Jane Davis, 102, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Spearman Methodist Church with Ken Cole officiating.

Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Fairmount Cemetery at Hollis, Okla. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis was born June 26, 1899, in Old Fields, W. Va., to Charles and Ema Sions. She came to Oklahoma with her parents when she was 4 years old, settling in Dewey County. She married James Ray in 1917. He died in 1921, leaving her with two babies.

She owned and operated hotels and cafes in Canton, Okla., and Oakwood, Okla. She married Glen Davis in 1930. They moved to Hollis, Okla., in 1950. Her husband died in 1959, but she continued to live in Hollis.

In her later years she lived with her daughters, making her home in Spearman with her daughter, Pauline, the last years of her life.

She was a member of Hollis United Methodist Church and attended church regularly in Spearman as long as she was able. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star having held all points of the star and had been past worthy matron.

She enjoyed arts and crafts and enjoyed craft shows. She will be remembered by many in Spearman for the colorful cup towels that she embroidered.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Thompson of Houston and Pauline McGee of Spearman; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Manor, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081.
