Manuel Cantu Jr., 64, beloved father, brother, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2014 at his home in Hollis surrounded by his family.

Jr. was born November 30, 1949 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to the late Manuel Sr. and Consuelo (Connie) Cantu. He worked as a maintenance technician for several years of his life. Jr. was last employed at Crest Supermarket in Moore, OK. before recently moving back to Hollis.

Jr. touched the lives of many people throughout his life, with his smile and generosity. He maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way until the end. Jr. loved his family and was especially proud of his three children and grandchildren. He was a kind man with a loving heart who never met a stranger. His love for music led him to be involved with various bands, including "The Overcomers" in which he proudly played alongside his brothers. One of his favorite hobbies would be restoring classics and entering them in car shows around the area in which he won many prizes for. Jr. also enjoyed fishing, cooking, going to the flea markets, and spending time with his family and friends. He shared many quotes and sayings, one of his favorites being “I am who I is and I is who I am and You can't touch this!"

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Sr. and Consuelo "Connie" Cantu and a son KC Cantu.

He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Wilson of Moore, OK.; one son, Jon Luke Cantu of Weatherford, OK.; six grandchildren, Derek, Landon, Leslie, Cameron, Kacee, and Christopher; nine brothers, Ramon Cantu and wife Jennifer of Ft. Wayne, IN., Joe Cantu and wife Margaret of Hollis, OK., Jesse Cantu and wife Elma of Hollis, OK., Robert Cantu and wife Alice of Altus, OK., Danny Cantu and wife Lisa of Fayetteville, AR., Johnny Cantu and wife Olivia of Altus, OK., Jimmy Cantu and wife LeeAnn of Hollis, OK., Bobby Jack Cantu and wife Lynda of Chickasha, OK., and David Cantu and wife Diane of Altus, OK.; six sisters, Manuela Piquignot and husband Chad of Ft.Wayne, AR., Rosa Martinez and husband Robert of Plainview, TX., Mary Morris of Altus, OK., Linda Suarez and husband George of Hollis, OK., Diana Herrera of Hollis, OK., and Alice Herrera and husband Smiley of Hollis, OK.; and a host of nieces, nephews and countless other family and friends who were all blessed to have known him.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis, Oklahoma with Bro. Joe Cantu officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.

Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
