Billy Carl Batten, 53, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away August 1, 2015 after valiantly battling stage IV cancer.

He was the son of Bobby Wayne Batten and Betty Clair Teel. Billy was born on November 16, 1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent most of his youth growing up and working in Tulsa. Billy graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1980. He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning his Accounting degree in three years. Billy moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 1985 joining a local accounting firm as a junior partner. He spent 30 years building friendships into a modest accounting firm. Billy was a longtime member of the Norman TIPS club. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, family gatherings, and helping others.

Billy is survived by both parents; sisters, Cindy Dunham and Terri Batten; twin brother, Bobby Batten, II; brother-in-law, John Dunham; sisters-in-law, Pam Batten and Lisa Goodman; nephew, Chris Dunham; nieces, Shelby Dunham and Lanie Batten-Goodman; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Billy was a loving son, a wonderful brother/brother-in-law, a selfless-involved-supportive uncle, and a caring friend. He will be missed dearly.

Services to celebrate Billy’s life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 5 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 6 at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma.
