ENID — MEDFORD — Rosary for Ryland Ernest Arthurs, 69, will be 7 p.m. today, May 16, 2012, and Mass of Christian burial
will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Medford, with Rev. Lourdu Ponnapati officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with arrangements by
Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Medford. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.lan manmemorials.com.

Ryland was born Aug. 2, 1942, to Ernest Arthurs and Hazel Morris Arthurs in Shattuck and passed from this life at his home on Sunday, May 13, 2012.

He attended school at Liberal High School in Liberal, Kan.

He worked at the gas plant at Lamont for many years.

Beginning in 1976, he held three terms as Grant County Sheriff.

He married Jane “Pumpkin” Wehkamp Feb. 14, 1975.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jane of Medford; son, Michael Arthurs of Wichita, Kan.; daughter, Maressa Arthurs of Medford; son, Eric Arthurs of Guymon; daughter, Angela Arthurs of
Omaha, Neb.; grandson, Derec; brother, Bill Arthurs of Enid; sisters, Joyce Wooden of Fredriksted and Laura Bewley of Clovis, N.M.

Ryland was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Building Fund or Medford EMS through the funeral home.
