July 28, 1927 - January 12, 2022

Graveside services for Roy L. Sharkey, Jr., age 94, of Enid, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Pond Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Roy was born July 28, 1927, to Roy L. Sr. and Gladys (Hull) Sharkey and departed this life Wednesday 12, 2022.

Roy grew up in the Pond Creek area and graduated from Pond Creek High School in 1945. Upon graduating, he joined the Navy and served from 1945-1946. After graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1950, Roy went to work for the OSU Extension Office, as the Area Farm Management agent, where he remained until his retirement in 1985.

Roy married Rosalie Hendrickson on October 19, 1951. In 1985, he began Northwest Record Keeping and worked there until his retirement in 2000.

Roy was proceeded in death by his parents, Roy L. Sr. and Gladys Sharkey, and his wife Rosalie on February 9, 2016.

He is survived by two sons, Steven K. Sharkey of Enid and James (Jatinder) Sharkey of Benicia, CA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials in Roy's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
