Rexene (Brown) Plucker

Rexene (Brown) Plucker
February 26, 1950 ~ September 21, 2022

Rexene Plucker: Wife, mother, and grandmother was born February 26, 1950, to Rex and Mary Brown of Nash, Oklahoma. She passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Stone Oak Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

She attended grade school and high school in Nash and was a graduate for the final class of Nash High School in 1968. She later attended the University of Maryland, where she was awarded an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.

At Oklahoma State University she met a young man from Tulsa. She married him on January 18, 1970, in the Nash Christian church. They were together for over 52 years. She lived in many places as her husband, Wayne, followed an Air Force career and a later career in Business Aviation.

Throughout her married life, Rexene held jobs in insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail sales. These jobs were often changed due to Wayne dragging her to another location. Two of the most interesting jobs that Rexene had were at the Headquarters for U.S. Air Forces Europe. Following a bombing by the Bader-Meinhof gang at
the Headquarters, she exclaimed, "It is always fun to go to work in the morning in the blast zone from an explosion."

Her most beloved association was with the Daughters of the American Revolution. She could trace her ancestry back to seven Revolutionary War heroes. She held many positions in the organization, but her favorite was as the State Regent for the South Dakota State Organization.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

She is survived by her husband Wayne of San Antonio, Texas; son, Terry and wife Amy and grandson Nathan of Omaha, Nebraska; grandson, Alex and wife Madison of Stephenville, Texas.

Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home in Pond Creek. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Pond Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Watkins officiating.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

Memorials may be made to Nash Fire Department and Nash Christian Church.
