February 23, 1971 - June 21, 2020

Please join us in celebrating the life of Jill Ann (Boyer) Halcomb on Saturday, June 27 at 10 a.m. in the Pond Creek - Hunter School Auditorium. Jill was born to Jane Ann (Breckenridge) Boyer and James Dale (J.D.) Boyer in Enid, Oklahoma on February 23, 1971, during the historical blizzard. The snow storm shut down life for most people, but not for Jill; her life of perseverance was just beginning.

Jill attended Hayes Elementary in Enid and later moved with her family to Pond Creek, where she graduated from Pond Creek - Hunter in 1989. She continued her education at Phillips University in Enid. On May 16, 1992, she married Danny Halcomb. On October 22, 1993, they welcomed their first child, Haley Danielle. Jill received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education the following year. On May 30, 1996, they added another daughter, Rylie Ann, to their family, and on February 22, 1999, their son, Derek James, was born. Jill dedicated herself to a long career in education, all while raising and taking care of her family. She managed to attend all of her kid's events while continuing to teach, and she furthered her professional career by earning a Master's Degree in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2007. Jill was an amazing educator and was recognized as such when she was awarded Masonic Lodge Teacher of the Year at both Pond Creek - Hunter Schools, where she gave 18 years of service and Medford Schools where she gave 5 years of service. She was powerful at providing all of her students an education, but she was even better at teaching compassion, generosity, and kindness, always leading by example.

Jill was a champion athlete, earning All-State honors in track and various other honors in basketball. Her love for sports and competition flowed to her three children, whom she proudly followed all over the state to attend countless games. She loved her children dearly and never missed an opportunity to support them in any of their endeavors. Jill enjoyed planning and taking her family on trips and vacations, usually ending up somewhere in Colorado. Danny and Jill spent many weekends in Stillwater with their kids attending various Oklahoma State sporting events. They also hosted numerous OSU watch parties at their home. Her love for life and activity was felt by all those close to her. Jill was a beloved daughter, devoted sister, loving wife, proud mom, and a gracious mother-in-law, but her favorite role in life was being Nene to Kross, JP, Haden, and Ripley. She was constantly spoiling and loving her four grandsons. Jill was the queen of random gifts, often surprising family and close friends with anything and everything at any time just because she saw something a certain someone might enjoy. Everyone that knew Jill quickly recognized the strong family bond she had with her parents and siblings, Jana and Jay. She instilled this same bond in her own family. Family dinners and gatherings were regular occasions, pictures were countless, and hugs never ended.

Jill was truly an angel among us. She rarely had a bad day, and she constantly worried about everyone but herself. She continually displayed love and kindness and always took the time to help others and be generous. Jill worked to make sure everyone she encountered left happier than before; she usually succeeded. She had a warm glow that was comforting and put everyone at ease. Anyone that had the pleasure to experience Jill's incredible nature knows how greatly she will be missed.

Jill inspired many with her valiant 12-year battle with breast cancer. She faced each day with bravery and never complained. Her family still came first, and she did her best to make sure everyone else was still happy and taken care of. Jill fought every moment to stay with those she loved but now rests easy and pain-free in the arms of Jesus. She is survived by her husband, Danny of the home; daughter, Haley and husband, Jake Streck of Pond Creek and their boys JP and Haden; daughter, Rylie and husband, Andrew Mack of Waukomis and their boys Kross and Ripley, son, Derek of the home; parents, JD and Jane Boyer of Pond Creek; sister, Jana Boyer and fiance Chris Foster of Pond Creek, brother Jay and wife, Janel Boyer of Enid, and loving nieces and nephews. Jill's message to others is to "Love Life, Be Brave."
