Pond Creek Cemetery


Pond Creek – Howard Van Halcomb, 51, died Tuesday at his home in Pond Creek. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Friday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel at Pond Creek with the Rev. Charles Womack officiating. Burial will be in the Pond Creek Cemetery.

Halcomb was born November 27, 1928, on a farm near Pond Creek. He was a farmer and a custom harvester. He married Bernadine Hughes, and was also a member of the First Baptist Church at Pond Creek.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadine; three sons, Howard O. (Punky), Pond Creek, and Larry and Michael Van, both of Enid; one daughter, Mrs. Nyla Harper, Enid; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the Pond Creek Ambulance Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian.
