August 8, 1931 - December 31, 2021

Elam Parks was born August 8, 1931, the oldest son of Gregory and Effa (Wayman) Parks. He passed away on December 31, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

His parents moved to a farm southwest of Nash, Oklahoma, where Elam grew up and graduated from Nash High School in 1951. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served four years, having obtained the title of Staff Sergeant when he was discharged. He started farming in the Nash area where he lived.

Elam married Rita Milligan in 1953, and together they raised two sons.

He was a Boy Scout (Eagle) and also served on many boards, including the Nash Coop, Jet-Nash School board and the Nash Cemetery board. Elam was a member of the Nash Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon and Elder and taught Sunday School.

Elam leaves behind his two sons, Joe (Susan) Parks and Mat (Cathy) Parks; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bob (Linda) Parks, Harold Parks and Rick Parks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory and Effa Parks; three brothers, Wayne, John and Brent; and one sister, Joann Humphreys.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the Nash Christian Church, with interment to follow in New Home Cemetery, Nash, OK.

Memorials can be made to Nash Christian Church. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.
