Idella Belle Diller

New Home Cemetery

Idella Belle Gilchrist was born October 13th, 1935, to John Stanley and Esther (Eulberg) Gilchrist in Anthony, Kansas. Idella attended a country school, later graduated from Wakita High School and furthered her education at Wichita Business College.
Idella married the love of her life, George Diller, September 2nd, 1954. They began their married life in Alva and soon made their home on the Diller Farm just west of Nash, Oklahoma. They were blessed with four children, Judy Diller Johnson, Sammie Diller Gripe and Mike, Stanley Diller and Janel and Roger and Jennifer Diller, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Idella and George maintained the family farm and owned the Diller Insurance office at Nash. In addition, she operated a tag agency and would sell tags in Nash and Jet. She also enjoyed assisting on the farm, painting, photography, and gardening.
Idella was a member of the Nash First Baptist Church; she loved working at the church, serving in the kitchen, cooking for funerals, the youth and Alva BSU. She had a true servant's heart and wanted to do for others as Jesus would do.
Idella was the twelfth child of thirteen children. Her family brought her great joy, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always welcomed children into the home, and they could stay as long or as often as they wanted. The more the merrier!
Idella was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Marvin, Raymond, Wilfred, Mary Ellen Gilchrist Pearcy, Lester Gilchrist, Russell, Cecil, Opal Gilchrist Armfield; daughter in-law Shireen Diller; and Husband George Diller.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 16th, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK. Services will be Friday, November 17, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the Nash Baptist Church, 104 Hazel St., officiated by Pastor Sam Ferris, and followed by interment at the New Home Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the New Home Cemetery of Nash, the Timberlake Education Foundation or organization of your choosing.
