Burniece Neufeld passed away April 9, 2015, in Bartlesville at the age of 92.

Burniece Nadine Young was born July 19, 1922, to Price and Jennie (Roy) Young in Ferguson, Kan. She graduated from Manchester High School, Manchester, in 1940.

She married Eugene Neufeld on Dec. 13, 1941. They made their home in Manchester, where she was a telephone operator and he was a high school teacher, basketball coach and later superintendent of schools. They had a custom harvesting business that lasted for almost 50 years and farmed wheat in western Kansas.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and the harvest crew. She especially enjoyed making pies for family and friends. She learned to sew when she was a young girl and became an excellent seamstress. She made clothing for herself, her daughter and her granddaughters. Later in life, she made quilts for her grandchildren.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Manchester.

After her husband died in 1996, she moved to Wiggins, Colo., to be near her son and his family. She was blessed to watch her granddaughters grow up and get married. She moved to Bartlesville, to Sterling House, an assisted living center, in 2011.

She is survived by her son, Crayton and wife Diana Neufeld, of Wiggins, Colo., and daughter, Felicia and husband Andrew Nelson, of Bartlesville; granddaughters, Shala and husband Tyler Burdette, and great-grandchildren Ashlee and Austin of Berthoud, Colo.; Christy and husband Chad Teter, and great-grandchildren Brevin and Brynlee of Hudson, Colo.; and grandson, Trevor Nelson, of Bartlesville; and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
