LAMONT - Garfiled Co OK. Pheobe Jane Silks, Burial in the Lamont Cemetery.
Died October 16, 1981 Enid, Garfield Co., Oklahoma
LAMONT - Mrs. Pheobe Jane Silks, 58, died early Friday morning in Enid Memorial Hospital. She resided at 202 South Linn in Lamont.
She married Ted Silks on Nov. 15, 1938, in Wellington, KS. Her membership was in the Baptist church.
In addition to her husband, Ted, she is survived by two daughters, Judith Hodges, Lamont, and Janet Rowan, Birmingham, AL; two sons, James Silks, Lamont, and John Silks, Chino, CA; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also two brothers, Floyd Hair of Enid and Claude Hair of Medford and two sisters, Ora Lee McConnell and Frances Gilbert, both of Blackwell, survive.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Lamont Baptist Church with Rev. Tuney Ropp, minister, officiating. The body will lie in state at McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home in Lamont until 9 a.m. the day of the service. The casket will be closed for the service and afterward.
Mrs. Silks was a native of Billings, born there Feb. 23, 1923. She had lived in Lamont for the past five years and before that time lived in California and Kansas.
Please Note: Marriage date should be Nov. 15, 1939.
