July 18, 1932 - July 8, 2015

Oleta Maxine Davis-Moore was born on July 18th, 1932 in Paden, OK to Garrett and Gladys Davis. She died on July 8th, 2015 in Blackwell at the age of 82. Oleta loved her family and lived life to the fullest. She had a gift of hospitality and loved people. Her kind spirit and smile were contagious, and she never met a stranger. Oleta may be absent from the body, she in present with the Lord.

Oleta was a devoted and loving mother of Gary, Davey, Tammy, Lisa and Roger; grandmother of eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Oleta owned and operated the General Store in Lamont for years. She loved the community of Lamont and enjoyed serving others. Oleta was the 2000 recipient of the Lamont American Legion Post 209 Citizen Of The Year award. She was honored to have received this award. After retiring and moving to Blackwell, Oleta worked the gates at Blackwell Schools sporting events, and worked at the election voting poles. Oleta loved cooking for others, traveling, shopping, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed various activities at the church. Oleta had the unique ability to make the best of every situation, which helped carry her through life; a valuable trait that was modeled for her children. Oleta was a spectacular and beautiful lady in every sense of the word.

She is survived by five children, Garrett Duke and wife Brenda of Okemah, Oklahoma, David Duke and wife Kay of Okemah, Oklahoma, Tammy Reese and husband Alan of Nardin, Oklahoma, Lisa Kadavy and husband Kevin of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Roger Moore and wife Melissa of Blackwell, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Garrett Duke II, and wife Summer, Brandon Duke and wife DeeAnn, Christopher Duke, Tracy Dean and husband Britt, Bryan Duke and wife Amanda, Jennifer Booker and husband Joe, Jared Reese and wife Lindsay, Jessica Kadavy, Kaleb Kadavy, Hunter Moore and Raegan Moore; and thirteen great grandchildren, Maddie Duke, Dakota Duke, Dylan Duke, Cade Dean, Reid Dean, Kaylee Duke, Colton Duke, Justyce Booker, JB Booker, Jalen Booker, Brinley Reese, Brady Reese and Brett Reese, and one sister, Deretha Duke of Okemah, Oklahoma

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan Duke, father of Garrett, David, and Tammy, and husband Leslie Moore in 2001.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Lamont Cemetery, Lamont, Oklahoma.

Casketbearers will be her grandsons Garrett Duke II, Bryan Duke, Brandon Duke, Jared Reese, Christopher Duke, Kaleb Kadavy and Hunter Moore.

Honorary casketbearers will be G. W. Davis, Rocky Duke, Tim Urban, Randy Shipley, Danny Darling, Jack Gilbert, Dennis Skaggs, Donnie Muegge, Tim Toney and Roger Clark.

Her family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015, at Roberts and Son Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established with the Blackwell Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
