Erin Amee (Hill) Lewis
October 28, 1981-December 18, 2022

Erin Amee Hill Lewis, 41, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on December 18, 2022. The family will greet friends between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM Monday, December 26, 2022, at Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa. .A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Lamont, OK, with Jeff McReynolds officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lamont Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 505 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK, 74653.
Erin was born on October 28, 1981, in Ponca City, OK, and was the second born of four children. She was raised on the family farm east of Lamont and grew up driving tractors, riding 3-wheelers, showing sheep and hogs, attending church and youth group, and participating in 4-H, FFA, and choir.
She was a tremendous cook, always making more than necessary, and was in charge of making the family’s traditional Christmas candy. She was also an avid gardener and canned jams and jellies every year. She enjoyed traveling the country. It was never a surprise when she and Piper would load up and take off to another state for a Girl Scout event, go to Branson or go somewhere new. Erin never met a stranger and kept in touch with everyone. She was the keeper of the family history.
Her life centered around her daughter, Piper: taking her to dance class, leading her Girl Scout troop, and helping Piper chase her barrel racing dreams.
Erin was a tenacious person: once she decided to do something, nothing and no one could stop her. This was most recently demonstrated when, at age 38, she decided to become a teacher like her mother and sisters. Erin recently graduated with a degree in education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and was enjoying her job as a PreK teacher at Kildare Public Schools.
Before her education career, Erin had worked for Conoco Phillips, Ryder, Blanton Chiropractic Clinic, and served as a substitute at Ponca City Public Schools. She also assisted her husband, Andy, in running his business Budget Auto and Towing.
Erin is survived by her husband, Andy of the home; daughter Piper Hill of the home; mother and step-father, Shellie and Doug Fitch of Lamont, OK; step-sons Bryon Lewis and his wife, Tara of Ponca City, OK, Jacob Lewis of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren Greyson and London Lewis; brother Kemper Hill, of Lamont, OK; sisters Heather Bledsoe and husband Dale of Red Rock, OK and Megan Jones and husband Chris, of Jenks, OK; grandmother Karen Fitch of Medford, OK; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Calvin and Delora Lewis of Ponca City, OK; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Dutch Bufford of Tonkawa, OK; sisters-in-law Kayla Kramer Jackson and husband Brian of Ponca City, OK and Chasity Bishop and husband Brandon of Ponca City, OK; brother-in-law Marcus Pugh of Memphis, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Also included are special friends Echo Blanton, Candas Miller, and Kyleen Howe. Erin is preceded in death by her grandparents, Leo and Patricia Hill, Leroy and Ruth Tennyson, and Don Fitch.
Bryon Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Brian Jackson, Kemper Hill, Hugo Robles, and Dr. Tim Blanton will be pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brett Howe, Chris Jones, Dale Bledsoe, and Brandon Bishop.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Piper Hill College Fund, State Exchange Bank, P.O. Box7, Lamont, OK 74643.
