April 27, 1932 - March 27, 2021

Robert (Bob) Leroy Landis, 88, of Lamont, OK, passed away on March 27, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on April 27, 1932 to Christina and Fred Landis of Lamont, OK. After graduating from Lamont High School in 1952, He married his high school sweetheart Joyce Pierce on June 13, 1952, two weeks after graduating high school. He then went straight on to the Air Force where he served 4 years, while living in California. Bob and Joyce went on to have 4 children, Mike, Rick, Sandy, and Fred. In 1956 they moved to Mulvane, KS and he worked for Cessna for 16 years. They then returned to Lamont, Ok in 1968.

After retiring from Cessna he became manager of the new Hunter Rural Water System which eventually brought water to 500 farm families. He also enjoyed farming on his family farm raising wheat for more than 30 years. Some of his interests included preaching, building model airplanes, and being a wonderful dad and grandpa. He had a true passion to share about Christ through missions and serving in small churches throughout the Lamont and Ponca City areas.

He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, his son Mike and wife Bunny of Newkirk, son Rick and wife Carla of Medford, daughter Sandy and husband Tom Vanaman of Lamont, and son Fred and wife Kathy of Newkirk, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and three brothers.

There will be a visitation Wednesday, March 31, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. at the Newkirk First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Jason Raven. Interment will follow at Lamont Cemetery. Military rites provided by Vance Air Force Base Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma.
