Donald Gene Simpson
December 27, 1941 ~ March 13, 2013


The funeral service for Donald Gene Simpson, age 71, of Garber, will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Covington, with Rev Phillip Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackbear Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Donald was born to Albert Jay and Oval Della [Norris] Simpson on December 27, 1941, in Lucien, and died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Enid.

Donald grew up in the Garber-Covington area.

He worked in the oilfield and then at Hackney, retiring after thirty years.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington.

He is survived by two daughters, Emmaleigh Simpson of Shawnee and Ashley Simpson of Enid; six grandchildren; and several cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, son Matthew, two sisters Martha Honegger and Carolyn Hoback.

Lawrence Wayne Simpson

The graveside service for Lawrence Wayne Simpson, 66, of Garber, will be 10 am Thursday, November 6, 2008, in Black Bear Cemetery, near Garber. Pastor Tom LeGrand will officiate. Arrangements are by Dugger Funeral Home, Garber.

He was born February 24, 1942, in Enid to Ephriam Wesley and Doris Estella Clark Simpson and died Sunday, November 2, 2008, at his home.

He graduated from Covington High School in 1960.

He served with the Air Force from 1962 to 1967.

He married Betty Artherholt August 7, 1965, in Enid.

He worked as an aircraft mechanic at Vance Air Force Base from 1969 to 2004, when he retired.

Surviving are three daughters, Toni Kroll of Billings, Kristy McGehee of Garber, and Cherie Spangler of Covington; two sisters, Eileen Lichtenberg and Anita Stebbins, both of Enid; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
