Covington Record Covington, Oklahoma Thursday March 2, 1922 January 23, 1837 ~ February 26, 1922 Art Baldwin and his brother Charles arrived Thursday with the body of their father, who died at Red Fork, Sunday. Burial will take place Friday afternoon at the cemetery on the Arthur Baldwin farm north east of town. The deceased was 85 years old. Covington Record Covington, Oklahoma Thursday March 9, 1922 January 23, 1837 ~ February 26, 1922 The funeral of Elias H. Baldwin was held at the home of his son Arthur Baldwin, Saturday morning at 9:30, conducted by Rev. L. C. Burkett of the Baptist church. Interment took place at the cemetery on the Baldwin farm eight miles northeast of town. Elias H. Baldwin was born at Hartford, Connecticut, December 23, 1836. He was married to Harriet E. Moses in 1858. To this union nine children were born, six boys and three girls. He united with the Methodist church about the year 1856 and lived a devout Christian ever after. His wife departed this life in 1885. He was a veteran of the Civil War. Andersonville Prisoners of War Surname: ELIAS H. © Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma March 1929 February 1, 1868 ~ February 3, 1929 Funeral services for Arthur Baldwin, 61, who died at a local hospital, Sunday evening will be held at the New Bethany church, southwest of Garber at 2:30 pm Wednesday and burial will be made in the Black Bear Cemetery. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs Maggie Baldwin of the home, a daughter, Mrs Olin Johnson of Kremlin, a son, Pryor L. Baldwin of Garber, a sister, Mrs Ada Wadsworth of Perry, three brothers, Charles Baldwin of Tulsa, Everett of Yakima, Washington, and Clarence of Oregon, and a grandson, Arthur Johnson of Kremlin. The body is being cared for by the Henniger-Royer funeral home. |

Olive, Oklahoma August 1968 July 12, 1891 ~ August 10, 1968 Nancy Mason was born on July 12, 1891 in Kentucky and died on August 10, 1968 in Garber, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Tyre W. & Betty [Bentley] Mason. She first married Dock P. Jayne on May 18, 1912 in Noble, Oklahoma. They had one child, Jack Perry Jayne. She later married Pryor Leslie Baldwin in 1943. She was buried next to her husband, Pryor, in the Baldwin Cemetery at Olive Township, Oklahoma |

Garber Sentinel Garber, Oklahoma Thursday January 12, 1905 August 30, 1900 ~ January 5, 1905 Died January 5, 1905, Pet Raymond oldest son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Baldwin of Arkansas City, Kansas. He was born in Garfield Co. Oklahoma August 30, 1900, aged 4 years, 4 months and 5 days. His remains were brought home and laid to rest in the Black Bear Cemetery. After a few days of intense suffering he sweetly fell asleep in Jesus. Thus another flower was taken from earth to bloom in the Paradise of God. Though his stay was very brief, he won the hearts of all in the home. And who can say that no life is better for his having lived, that no heart is touched with the thought of Heaven more feelingly since his spirit is there? "Of such is the Kingdon of Heaven." The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family. |

© Enid Morning News Enid, Oklahoma August 7, 1957 June 12, 1903 ~ August 2, 1957 Pryor Leslie Baldwin, son of Arthur and Maggie Baldwin, was born June 12, 1903, on a farm southeast of Garber, and he departed this life on August 2, 1957, on the homestead where he was born. He attended the rural neighorhood school, the Covington high school, and two years in the Edmond schools. He had worked for a number of years in the oil field and was also engaged in farming. He had spent his entire life in the Garber-Covington community and was well known throughout the county. Mr Baldwin was married to Nan Payne on October 29, 1949, at Ozark, Frnaklin Co. Arkansas. His father, mother, one brother, and one sister preceded him in death. Immediate surviving relatives include his wife, Nan; a sister, Mrs Myrtle Johnson, and a nephew, Arthur Johnson, both of Kremlin, and a stepson Jack Payne of Muskogee. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Order of the Elks. Let it be said of him that he was a loyal and faithful friend who had the ability to see some good in everyone. |
