Betty spent her early years south of Eureka Community. She attended the Eureka School before marrying Dickey Henderson on February 24, 1948 at Taloga, Oklahoma, at the age of 16. They then returned to the states and lived in New York for two years. Betty and her boys then moved to Leedey and lived with family while Dick found a place in Germany so they could join him. After returning from Germany they moved to Ft. Lewis, Washington and remained there until Dicks death in 1966.

Betty then returned to Leedey and remained there until 1974 when she moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where she lived until her passing.

Betty enjoyed playing cards with friends, reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and her grandchildren. Betty was baptized at a young age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leedey.
