Doris Ann Nevill, of Temple, TX was born on August 4, 1944, in Marsden, OK to Jesse Melvin and Minnie Kate (Nevill) Stanford. She passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Morada Temple in Temple, at the age of 79.
 
Doris graduated from Chaffey Union High School in Ontario, California in 1962. She later married Melvin "Leroy" Nevill on May 28, 1976, in Ontario. They eventually moved back to her home area of Overbrook in June of 1983. In October of 2023, they moved to Temple to be closer to her daughter.
 
Doris was a member of the Marsden Baptist Church and a former member of the Criner Hills Fire Department. She loved traveling, playing dominoes and Yahtzee, and most importantly, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Birtie Nevill; daughter, Paula Christine Eckelbarger; brother, Jesse Stanford; sister, Naomi Stanford; and a brother-in-law, Joe Davis.
 
Those left to carry on Doris's legacy are her husband, Leroy Nevill of the home; son Raymond Eckelbarger and wife Traci of Hiram, GA; daughter, Penni McMahan and husband Todd of Belton, Texas; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Violet Davis of Rogers, Arkansas, and Carla Wilson and husband Gary of Reno, Nevada.
 
Graveside services for Doris were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the McAlister Cemetery, Overbrook with Bobby Nelms officiating.
