Bessie May Babcock Mayo

Bessie May Mayo, 90 years old former resident of Sharon, OK, passed from this life on March 6, 2023. Bessie was born February 7, 1933 to Edward and Lula May Babcock in Great Bend, KS. Growing up she resided in many different towns because of her father's work. She attended the Nazarene College in Bethany, OK where she obtained her Registered Nursing license. Bessie married Lawson Carroll Mayo and to this union four children were born Janice Maria, Dallas Edward, Greg Alan, and Kathy Jo. Bessie worked as an RN for over 30 years until she retired. When she lived in Sharon, she was a member of the South Persimmon Baptist church. She enjoyed cooking and crafts such as embroidery and crocheting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren every chance she got.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lawson C. Mayo, parents Lula May and Edward Babcock, son Dallas Mayo and sisters Rose Mary Niehaus and Crystal Joann Shott.

Bessie is survived by son Greg Mayo and wife Michelle of Purcell, OK; daughters Janice Pierce of Norman, OK and Kathy Jo Oberly of Chickasha, OK; grandchildren Clayton and Crystal Mayo and their children Cassie, Haley, Ryan and Josie; Amanda Mayo, Josh Yarbrough; Jessica and Kyle Enox and their son Peyton Enox; Andrea Holden and her children Kai Holden and Leala Jones; Maria Holden and Jeff Moses and their children Ziya Aurand and Corric Moses; Eric Holden and his children Maddox and Silas Holden; extended family and a host of friends
