DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Geneva Mildred Reese (nee Estes), born in Red Oak, OK (1927), died peacefully at Marwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Port Huron, MI, on Jan. 19, 2022.

She is predeceased by her husband Phillip (Holice Phillip), her sons Steve (Stephen) and Harold, grandson Jeffrey, brother Bill Estes and wife Rosetta, and sister Evelyn Craighead and husband Eugene.

She is loved and will be missed by her two daughters-in-law Hazel Neely (Canada) and Marsha Reese, (CA); grandchildren, Bill Shepard (wife Cathy), Angela Shepard (partner Trevor), Michelle Taggart (husband Sean), Meredith Chopka (partner Paul), C.J. Bartaldo (wife Kelly), Christina Schaible (husband Loren); 11 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. As well, her nieces, nephews and their families loved her and will miss her: Connie Standridge (husband Randy), Elaine Arnold (husband Chuck), Alan Craighead (wife Jeannie), Carol Ann Divin (husband Ben), and Jim Estes (wife Donna).

Geneva spent most of her life growing up and living in Bartlesville, OK, with short times in California, Colorado and Idaho. She worked for Philips Petroleum and the U.S. Bureau of Mines from which she retired in 1971. She and Phillip loved to travel and explored every U.S. state as well as many road trips to Canada. And no matter where their travels took them, their faith went with them. Geneva was a devoted and committed member of the First Assembly of God Church, helping and working throughout the years in a variety of roles including church secretary, Sunday School teacher, friend and mentor to many. She often reflected on how much she loved being a part of a family musical trio which included her sister Evelyn and sister-in-law Rosetta. She and Phillip were also involved in missionary services. Her faith was the bedrock of her life. In 2001, Geneva and Phillip moved to Port Huron, MI, to be closer to their son Harold and family. She made many friends at Blue Water Lodge Retirement Home until moving to Marwood Nursing Home in 2020. She continued sharing her positive attitude and beautiful smile even during the last few very difficult years. She was truly the embodiment of love and grace.

She will be reunited with her dear husband of almost 70 years in a private family interment service in the coming weeks. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.

H. P. (Phil) Reese, was born July 17, 1924 in El Dorado, Kansas, to Holice and Ila Reese. The family moved to Dewey, Oklahoma in 1926 and Phil lived with his grandparents, W. P. and Mary Webber until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943. On September 3, 1944 he married Geneva Estes. They moved to Inglewood, California where Phil was employed at the Inglewood Fire Department. They later returned to Bartlesville to make their home and he was employed by Bartlesville Fire Department, retiring there in 1970 with the rank of Assistant Chief. During his career in Bartlesville he was elected President of the Oklahoma State Fire Fighter's Association and after his retirement, also elected President of the Oklahoma State Retired Fire Fighter's Association.

Phil and Geneva worked in a volunteer program of their church called "RV Volunteers" traveling all over the U.S. to work on Teen Challenge Centers, children's homes, and churches to repair, maintain, or build new edifices, saving the church organizations millions of dollars.
Phil was an active member of First Assembly of God Church, and, along with Bill Estes and Frank Benners, he accompanied on rhythm guitar the GospelAires Trio consisting of his wife, Geneva, AnnaBelle (Drury), Rosetta Estes and later Evelyn Craighead.
Phillip really enjoyed being Wagon Master for a travel company that led motor homes through Mexico. He and Geneva traveled to all 50 states and Canada and Mexico and he never lost his desire to travel.
In 2007, he and Geneva finished and published the story of much of their life titled "Movin' On" which was an appropriate name because of all their traveling and moving to different homes

He has now made his final move and wants to encourage all of you to meet him at that glorious place we call heaven.

Survivors include: Wife, Geneva, of the home; son, Harold and wife Hazel, Michigan; son, Steve and wife Marsha, California; Eugene Craighead and Rosetta Estes, of Bartlesville; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; many Webber cousins some of whom he lived with during his growing years; and many loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, and precious grandparents, the W. P. Webbers, who helped raise him and by his namesake grandson, Jeffrey Phillip.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Walker Brown Funeral Home 4201 Southeast Nowata Road Bartlesville, Oklahoma

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church 900 South Dewey Bartlesville, Oklahoma>
