Donald Glenn Srock
08 Aug 1929 - 30 Mar 2015

Donald "Don" Glenn Srock, 85, died Thursday, March 30, 2015 at the Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry.

Papa Srock, as they called him, was loved and cared for by many wonderful people during the nine months he resided there.

Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

He was born August 8, 1929 to Hugo and Bertha Srock in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

He married Joyce Loraine Beal on March 30, 1951. Don and Joyce worked together in the bulk propane business in southern Minnesota until their retirement. At that time, they moved to Donna, Texas and enjoyed their retirement together until Joyce's death in 1998. Don moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 2000.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, three sisters, an infant daughter, and an infant great-grandson.

Throughout his life, Don was an avid dog lover, bird watcher, camper, hiker and fisherman and the family spent countless vacations enjoying these activities in northern Minnesota. Don's children take comfort in the knowledge that even dementia couldn't take these memories from him as demonstrated by his fond recollections of these activities throughout his illness.

He leaves three children: Donald Joy Srock and wife Marlene of Kellogg, Minnesota; Paul Srock and wife Gwen of North Platte, Nebraska; and Lora Frost and husband Dale of Stillwater, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Stillwater Christian Villa where he lived prior to his illness and made many wonderful friends.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made in Don's name to the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma, 2448 E 81st St, Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137-4250.
