Darlene Virginia Heckman, 94, formerly of Nowata, Oklahoma, died Monday, December 30, 2019.

Darlene was born March 3, 1925 in Nowata, to Edith (Reed) Gibson. She attended school at Nowata Public Schools completing the 8th grade.

She married George William Heckman in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1970. The couple had three children, which were Darlene’s entire world! She loved visiting her children, wherever they were living at the time. She also considered herself a world traveler, as she went on a cruise.

Darlene worked for a clothing manufacturer during the war and later in life, as a personal caregiver. Although, the job she took most pride in was being a loving wife and mother!
She enjoyed sewing, crafting and coloring in adult coloring books. She was a member of the Hillside Christian Church.

Darlene was preceded in death by the love of her life, George; mother and many, many friends.

She is survived by her three children, Steven, Cynthia and Joe; daughter-in-law Donna and numerous nieces and nephews.
