Funeral services for Virgie M. Trent, 90, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in the Grand Assembly of God Church with Larry Hatfield and Dwain Jones officiating.

Virgie M. Trent was born May 31, 1916, in Roll, Oklahoma, the daughter of Cirill and Eola &40;Jarvis) Kovar. She died January 11, 2007, in Chickasha.

She attended school in Hammon, Oklahoma and graduated from Hammon High School in 1934. She continued her education at Southwestern University, where she earned her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 1957. She started her teaching career in Wayne, Oklahoma, where she taught from 1958 to 1967. She then moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1967 and she taught there until 1974. During this time she went back to school earning her Masters Degree in 1972. In 1974, she moved to Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma where she was the school counselor, and she retired from there in 1978.

On June 14, 1942, in Weatherford, Virgie married Robert Bryan. This union blessed them with three children: Maxine, Ted and B. Gretchen. Robert preceded her in death in 1961.

She later reunited with a childhood friend from Hammon, Eldred Trent, and they were married on May 19, 1978. They made their home in Chickasha . Eldred preceded her in death on December 16, 2006.

She enjoyed traveling, and she had traveled all over the United States and abroad. She was an accomplished seamstress and artist. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, singing, and doing volunteer work at Grady Memorial Hospital and for the church.

Virgie was a member of the Assembly of God Church since 1931. As a teen she sang in a Gospel trio on live radio in Elk City, Oklahoma. She organized and helped prepare the dinners for the First Assembly of God Church for over 20 years. She was a devoted Christian and loved her church family.

She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Robert Bryan; husband, Eldred Trent; brother, Wallace Kovar.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Ted and Michelle Bryan, of Tulsa; three daughters and son-in-law: Maxine and Skip Frazier, of Austin, Texas; B. Gretchen Bryan, of Port Orchard, Washington; and Jo Marilyn Trent, of Pauls Valley; seven grandchildren: Cory Bryan, of Bloomingdale, Illinois; Hollye and Chad Goley, of Edmond; Todd and Sawan Bryan, of South Lake, Texas; Brent and Wendy Frazier, of Ft. Worth, Texas; Bryan and Dara Frazier, of Austin, Texas; Robin Cook, of Oklahoma City and Levi Silberman, of Olympia, Washington; and ten great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
