Louise A. Gordon, age 78 of Purcell, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020.

Louise was born May 7, 1942 in Hamilton, Texas, the 4 6 children born to Hilbert Perry Askins and Ruth Belle (Winters) Askins. She was raised primarily in Post, Texas where she attended school. Louise’s life changed forever when she met a young man named Bobby Paul Gordon. She was working as a waitress and he would come in for coffee. As chance would have it, one night while dragging Main Street, Louise stepped in front of his car, and the rest is history. They were madly in love and not too long after, on May 15, 1960, they were married. Bob followed his heart and surrendered to the ministry, and Louise followed hers and partnered with him. They Pastored churches in Texas and in Oklahoma for many years. Together they raised 3 children, son, Randy and daughters, Vickie and Debbie. In 1986, they settled in Purcell to be closer to their grandchildren. Louise worked for a time for First National Bank in Purcell, retiring as an Administrative Assistant. She stayed busy in retirement, tending to her flower garden, and working in the Church nursery. She was an avid shopper and she loved watching the QVC Channel. Her greatest joy and the reason she lived was her family; and she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith; an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Purcell, a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!
