Wadley's Funeral Service

Carl James Cook died May 26, 2015 in Purcell at the age of 89 years 5 months 2 days.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery under the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Carl was born December 24, 1925 in Kermit, Texas to Braxton and Ruby (Shedrick) Cook. He was raised and attended school in Kermit. In the 1940's, Carl moved to Purcell, and worked as a Civilian Steel Contractor for Tinker Air Force Base for 32 years before retiring in 1982. Carl married Anna Dell in August 1947. She passed in 1982. In 1995, he married Francis Love. She passed in 2002. Carl enjoyed fishing, tinkering on things around the yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the United Methodist faith, enjoyed going to church and was a member of the Bowman Chapel in Purcell.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Braxton and Ruby Cook; first wife, Anna Dell Cook in 1982; second wife, Francis Love Cook in 2002; son, Donald Ray Cook in 2009; 8 sisters, and 10 brothers.

Survivors include his daughter, Sylvia Webb and husband, Jerry of Dayton, Ohio; sons, Charles Cook and wife, Renee of Norman, Oklahoma, Bishop Carl Cook and wife, Pam of Chaneyville, Louisiana, Henry Cook of Oklahoma City, John Paul Cook of Kansas City, Missouri, Lee Cook of Purcell, Tommy Cook of Edgewood, New Mexico, William Cook and Wife, Jenice of Purcell, Leroy Cook of Fort Smith, Arkansas; brother, Floyd Cook; 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
