A Celebration of Life for Jack Dee Hammer, age 73, will be held privately at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Jack was born to Harvey and Lucille (Choate) Hammer on Oct. 19, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif., and passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in Enid, Okla.

Jack grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School.

On August 18, 1975, Jack married Teresa Ann Overfelt.

He was the owner/operator of Hammer Oil & Gas Properties Co. in Enid. Jack enjoyed life, spending time at his lake house, and fishing.

He also enjoyed trying his luck with the slots on occasion. He was always excited to see his grandkids and family and enjoyed spending time with them. Jack was a very humorous man, who loved to joke and kid around. He liked making others laugh and helping people.

Jack attended Grace World Outreach Church.

Jack is survived by his wife Teresa of the home; three children: Darin Cook of Piedmont and his children Earon Hsu and Cameron Allen, Vanessa Hammer of Piedmont and her children Skylar Pendergraft and Mazie Hammer and Jarrod Hammer of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby and Benny.
