Roland Dill was born March 15, 1844 in Jefferson Co. Iowa to Reuben and Millisa Marlow Dill.

He married Margaret M. Morgan on November 8, 1865 in Collin Co. Texas.

In 1891 he brought his family to Oklahoma where they settled a homestead on recently opened Iowa Indian lands. He sold the homestead shortly after the death of his wife and lived in Guthrie and Coyle, Oklahoma until his death on February 25, 1921.

He is buried in the Evansville Cemetery.

He is survived by children: Mrs. Mary McKenzie, Mrs. Sarah Peterson,and George Dill. His wife and children James Dill, William J. Dill proceded him in death.
