Larry (Chuck) Fred Mayse of Ponca City passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was 79. A Memorial service will be held as a Motorcycle last ride from Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City to the Medford Cemetery on Saturday June 30 starting at 10 a.m. All bikes and rods are welcome to join in on the procession. Meet at Grace Memorial Chapel parking lot and be ready to leave at 10 a.m. The graveside memorial service will begin around 10:45 at Medford with military honors being presented there.

Larry was born on May 9, 1939 in Medford, Ok to Fred Thomas Mayse and Edna Fern Blumenshine Mayse. Being of German and Viking descent, Larry was proud of his family history. He liked to tell the story of how his grandmother, who was a tiny lady in stature but not in spirit, ran in the Cherokee Strip Land Run. He worked as a mechanic and machinist for many years. He was a talented man who enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical. He graciously served his country in the US Navy. He met and married the love of his life, Joyce Ann Barrows in 1980. Together they raised a large, happy family. Their house was always filled with the sound of children laughing. Larry had a passion for motorcycles, and will be deeply missed by his brothers of the Vikings MC.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Joyce of the home, children, Larry Don and wife Judy Mayse, Sabra and husband Robert Cannon, Katrina and husband Mark Brumett, John and wife Audra Mayse, Tim and wife Denys Mayse, William and wife Connie Mayse, Larry and wife Jessica Sang, Jennifer and husband Harold Sullivan, Joyce Jolene Mayse, Jeremiah and wife Anna Mayse, and Dan and wife Sonia Mayse, 50 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Meeting him in heaven are his parents, one son Monty Fred Mayse, two twin sisters Loretta Cain and her husband Bob and Leaurva Kilpatrick and her husband Tom.

The family would like it very much for a large group of riders to show up and support their dad, the patriarch of this big family and the heart and soul of the Vikings MC.
