The funeral service for Spencer A. Young, 30-year-old Enid resident, is 2:00PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wesley Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery, Nash, OK.

Spencer was born August 30, 1991, in Enid to Scott and Michelle (Cecil) Young and died on May 25, 2022, in Enid. He attended local schools.

Spencer was an artist. Many people in Enid have his artwork on their body as he loved designing tattoos and pursued that job for over twenty years. He was also a gifted mechanic and loved working on cars. He also enjoyed building and working on all types of stereo equipment.

Spencer is survived by his mother, Michelle, and husband, Matt of the home; 2 children, Jaylan and Jaxton; two brothers, Blake and Brandon Young; sister, Kasey, and husband J.D. Lowrie; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Shirley Cecil; and grandmother, Mary Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Scott, and paternal grandparents.

Memorials in Spencer’s name may be made to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Enid Police Department: Man dies after accidentally shooting himself in leg

A 31-year-old man died Wednesday after apparently accidentally shooting himself in the leg, according to Enid Police Department.

At 9:39 a.m., EPD received a 911 call reporting a person with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a residence in the 600 block of West Cherokee, police said.

EPD, Enid Fire Department and Life EMS responded to the scene. Police secured the scene in and around the residence, according to EPD.

Spencer Alexander Young was found with a gunshot wound to his right leg and was in critical condition, police said. Young was transported by Life EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.

According to EPD, the shooting appears to be accidental, and the gunshot was self-inflicted. 0
