Arlen Dean Froese of Ponca City, OK passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 18, 2016.

Arlen is survived by his wife, Mary (Isenberg), three daughters, Jackie Engelhardt and husband Mike of New Braunfels, TX, Lisa Hays and husband Ken of Wichita, KS, and Elizabeth Fike and husband Gary of Ponca City OK, two sons, Kelly Froese of Fort Meyers, Fl, and Christopher Froese of Grand Junction, CO, two sisters, Mary Lue Goodsell of Tulsa, OK, and Jean Nightengale of Ponca City, OK. 11 Grand children 18 Great Grand children, and one Great Great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his father Pete Froese of Blackwell, OK, his mother Mabel (Bergen) Froese, and one sister Delores Jean Froese, one Great niece Ashley Au.

Arlen was born February 21, 1939 in Enid, OK to Pete and Mabel Froese. Attended schools in Nardin and Blackwell. Arlen served in the US Marine Corps 1956 to 1959 and the USMC reserve from 1959 to 1962. Arlen completed his honorable military career with 19 years in the Army National Guard.

Arlen started his career with Bell Telephone in Ponca City then transferring to Utah with US West. After retirement he and his wife returned to Ponca City.

Arlen enjoyed, volunteering in the LDS Temple, genealogy, making knives, horse back riding, fishing, and hunting. Arlen and his “executive board” loved to meet during the week and attempt to solve world issues.

The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 23, 2016 at Church of Christ Latter Day Saints 2408 E. Hartford Ave. Bishop Brian Critchfield officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in the Medford Mennonite Cemetery, Medford, Oklahoma under the kind guidance of the Stittsworth Funeral Service, Medford. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Army. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Arlen's life.
