Lorene Francis Silks, resident of Tonkawa, Okla., passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, in Ponca City, Okla., at Ponca City Nursing Home. She was 86. The service will be 10 a.m. today, March 4, 2015, at First Christian Church, Lamont, Okla., with the Rev. Jeff McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Lamont Cemetery in Lamont. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa.

Lorene was born March 23, 1928, to Virgil and Mary (Cook) Blubaugh in Medford, Okla., where she was raised.

She married Jesse “Ted” Silks in 1983.

She attended and graduated from Wichita State School in Wichita, Kan., and nursing school in Blackwell, Okla.

She worked as an LPN for over 20 years and sold Avon for almost 30 years.

She taught Sunday School for many years and was a dedicated Christian. She shared Jesus with everyone she met. She was a member of Assembly of God Church of Lamont. Lorene also was a member of Willing Workers of Lamont. She was the greatest mom and grandma anyone could ask for. She loved her family unconditionally.

She is survived by five kids, Orvin Lambert and wife Linda, Gary Lambert and wife Elizabeth, Dina Lambert, Kathy Silks, and Roger Lambert and wife Kathy; brother, Marvin Blubaugh; sister, Helen Shepard and husband Virgil; sister-in-law, Jo Agnes; 19 grandkids; 47 great-grandkids; six great-great-grandkids; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Debbie Brewer, whom she loved dearly.

Preceded in death by her father and mother, Virgil and Mary Blubaugh; husband, Jesse “Ted” Silks; one son-in-law, James Silks; two brothers, David and Paul Blubaugh; and three grandkids.

Casket bearers will be Orvin Lambert, Roger Lambert, Jesse Hodges, Shane Lambert, Dustin Silks, Joey Silks and Blake Hoemann. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave., Ponca City, OK 74601.
