Lamont Cemetery


James Henry Walker Robertson was born November 8, 1854 near Neosho, Missouri. He died at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Loma Smith on April 27, 1949. He moved from Neosho to Concordia, KS where he lived until he made the race at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. He found a parcel of land 7 miles west of Lamont. He lived there for sometime before he moved to Byron and then to Blackwell.He married Emma Jane Cockrell Nov 5, 1876. He was survived by children: Amanda Octavia McBride, Lula Nelvia Dyas, Izora Brock, Celia Ann Wells, and James Osie Robertson, 47 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Emma J. Robertson, a daughter Lola Nellie Newland and a son William Mordecai Robertson.

Emma Jane (Cockrell) Robertson died at her home near Byron, OK on October 5, 1911.She was survived by her husband James Henry Walker Robertson, 5 daughters: Amanda Octavia (Robertson) McBride, Lola Nellie (Robertson) Newland, Lula Nelvia (Robertson) Dyas, Izora (Robertson) Brock, and Celia Ann (Robertson) Wells. She had one surviving son, James Osie Robertson.She was predeceased by a son William Mordecai Robertson. Emma was also survived by one sister, Ester Dayhash.
