Maggie [Wasson] Irvin

Maggie Wasson Irvin was born on September 16, 1870 to Josiah M. Wasson and Permelia Adeline (Addie/Maddie) Sandlin in Mount Hope, Lawrence County, Alabama.

She married Rigdon Perry Irvin. They had ten children and they farmed near Poteau, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). The family later moved to the Naples area in Grady County, Oklahoma.

She died from gallbladder complications (as verified by her death certificate) on March 4, 1918 at the age of 62, in the Naples community, Bradley township, Grady County, Oklahoma. She is buried in the Naples Cemetery, Grady County, Oklahoma.

She was survived by her husband Rigg; sons, Thomas Jefferson Irvin, George Washington Irvin, Robert Osborn Irvin, and Clarence E. "Hap" Irvin; and daughters, Myrtle Ophilya Magee, Gay Nell Irvin, and Beaulah Cordelia Irvin.

She was preceded in death by two infant children and a son, Granville Irvin, in 1915.
