George Washington "Jack" Myers

George W. Myers Dies Here Today

George Washington "Jack" Myers, 60, Lawton resident for 23 years, died at 6:35 a.m. today at his home, 1501 South Seventh. He had been ill for wome time.

He was born at Alvord, TX, Sept. 3, 1883. On July 4, 1908 he married Miss Nannie Jordan at Pilot Point, TX. They came to Lawton in December 1921 from Chickasha, and have lived here since.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. J. O. Cooper; a son, Claude Myers, all of Lawton; tw brothers, Frank Myers and Walter Myers, Chickasha; a sister, Mrs Tom Shidler, Rush Springs, three grandsons and other relatives.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Ritter funeral home with the Rev Ivan J. Young, pastor of the First Christian Church , Officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Nannie Beatrice [Jordan] Myers

Services for Mrs. Nannie Beatrice Myers, 74, of 311 H, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Memories, Greenlawn Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Myers died about 2 p.m. Monday in an Amarillo, Tex., convalescent hospital, following an extended illness. She had been in Amarillo for the past two months.

She was born Feb. 4, 1891, in Joplin, Mo., and moved with her family to Texas at the age of 3. They lived in Celina, Texas., for 15 years.

She married George W. Myers in Celina in 1909, and they came to Oklahoma that same year. They lived near Chickasha until 1942 when they moved to Lawton. Mr. Myers died in 1945.

Mrs Myers was a member of the Chickasha Christian Church.

Mrs. Myers is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Cooper, Amarillo: four sisters, Mrs. Rubie Reece, 1303 Summit; Miss Ruth Jordan, 312 H; Mrs Carrie Sain, Cyril, and Mrs. Emma Strickland, Denton, Tex.
