James Owen "Jim" Morrissey. He went to be with his Lord on May 18, 2001, at the age of 68. He was born in Minco, Oklahoma, on October 8, 1932, to Jack and Ellen Morrissey. He graduated from Minco High School in 1950.

He served in the Oklahoma National Guard 45th division which was activated for service in the Korean War. He was awarded the Bronze Star. After returning home, he attended Oklahoma City University. He retired in 1988 from Tinker Air Force Base with 38 years of service. Jim was currently employed as an office manager for Custom Stainless.

As a loving father, he was very active in his children's lives. He was PTA president for Jefferson Middle School and U.S. Grant High School. Jim served as Cubmaster for Pack 33 and Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 91. His love for his sons and scouting led him to serve the Last Frontier Council as training chairman and Brown Sea Asst. Scoutmaster. He was a recipient of the Brotherhood Member of Order of the Arrow, Silver Beaver, and District award of Merit Pathfinder. He was involved in many civic activities including his current position on the Metro Tech School Board where he served as President of the board from 1993 to 1997 during his ten years of service. Jim was currently serving as President of Prairie Queen Neighborhood Watch Association. He was a member of Draper Park Christian Church. Jim was a former longtime member of Capitol Hill Christian Church where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and board member.

His mother, father, and two sisters, Betty Ann and Helen Joy, preceded him in death.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Lola Oneta Morrissey; his sons, Michael Owen Morrissey, Kevin Orin Morrissey; and his daughter, Michelle Oneta Morrissey, all of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Billy Jack Morrissey of Choctaw, Raymond Morrissey and his wife Sue of Tuttle, and John Morrissey and his wife Betty of Myrtle, Missouri; two sisters, Beatrice New comb and her husband Dave of Adair, and Penny Bennett of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of friends, and loved ones.

Services will be held in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2001, with interment following in Rest haven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Resthaven Funeral Home 500 S.W.104th Oklahoma City 691-1661
