Robert G. (Bob) McLaughlin, 75 Passed away on August 4, 2008.Bob was born in Elk City, OK to John and Ruby McLaughlin.

During his youth, Bob endured and overcame many obstacles. At the age of 5 Bob went to live at St. Joseph's Catholic Orphanage in Bethany, Okla. where he lived with his two brothers until age 12 . He then lived with his father until age 14 and later hitchhiked out West to be with his two sisters in Oregon.

Bob worked odd jobs until he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He met and married Frankie Metheny his wife of 53 years whom he loved dearly. They raised two sons together and enjoyed attending their school sporting events. Bob retired from Nalco Chemical Co. He loved to spend time with his four grandchildren, attending as many school plays and sporting events as possible. One of many things his grandchildren fondly remember is when Grandpa Bob tried to teach them how to stand on their head by showing them himself. Bob was also an avid golfer.

Bob's energetic and outgoing personality led him to never meet a stranger. He always volunteered to help his family and friends. Bob will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad and grandpa.

He is survived by his wife Frankie; sons; Chris, Darryl and wife Jeanne, grandchildren; Halie Campbell, Garrett McLaughlin, Kaitlyn and Kolsen McLaughlin; sisters; Betty Lindsley, Pearl Waters and brother Gene McLaughlin.
