Margaret Ruth Martin (Poe) was born in 1929 in Corona, Alabama and left her earthly home on October 22, 2019 at the age of 90. Margaret married the love of her life, John Robert "Buddy" Martin and was blessed with 65 years of marriage before Buddy’s passing in 2016.

Margaret was the living definition of "a smile is contagious". She just loved to smile and lit up any room she was in. Her hobbies included ceramics, gardening, cooking and working jigsaw puzzles. Above all, she adored her family and cherished her time with them. As a lifelong Nazarene, Margaret instilled her Christian faith in Buddy, her children and grandchildren. We can only hope to leave the legacy she has and she will be missed forever by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Jack Martin and wife Suzanne and Ron Martin and wife Tina; daughter, Melody Wright and husband Ken; sister, Martha Payne; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those at Legend at Rivendell that loved and cared for Margaret. This was home to her for the last 18 months. Also, special thanks to the hospice caregivers who provided comfort in her last days.

Services are 2:00pm,Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene. Condolences may be shared at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens
