Elizabeth Anne Hall (VanHorn) was born in Sydney Australia on August 2, 1934. Her spirit flew away peacefully on April 1, 2019 at home with her family.

Anne arrived from Australia with her family and settled in OKC in 1938. She was raised in Warr Acres and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1952. Anne met and married James L. Hall in 1953. They moved to South OKC in 1962 and raised their four children. Anne worked many jobs in her lifetime. Most notably, she served as a legal assistant to Ken Nance, Attorney for 40 years (1973-2013). They were great friends and confidants. Anne loved her work and she was good at it. She was an expert in probate and divorce law and positively impacted the lives of so many people who sought their counsel over the years. For 25 years Anne's coworker and sidekick was Kimberly Hawkins-Sanders. They were a formidable team and lifelong best friends.

Anne was smart, loyal, generous, tenacious, funny, opinionated, contrary and fiercely independent. She was light hearted, laughed easily, wise and never complained. Everyone enjoyed her company, and she loved children. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Anne was a gift to all who knew her. She was a proud patriot of her country, the State of Oklahoma and an avid sooner fan.

We want to thank the many family and friends who have helped to sustain our dear mother over the past two years as she struggled to recover from a car accident and live at home with a debilitating disease. A Heartfelt thank you to: Kimberly, David and Grant Hawkins Sanders; Pat Furr; Bruce, Sherry and Archie VanHorn; Terry Ford and Maura Hall-Ford; Jason, Mason and Misty; Alice and Mark McIntyre; Helen and Swift Dickison; Jane, Harry and Alice Poulter; Chris Furr and family; Steven and Jana VanHorn; Olive (her canine friend) and two of her care givers, Tere Brecheen and Patrick VanHorn. A special thank you to Crossroads Hospice (Michelle and Jennifer) for your compassionate care these past eight months.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, James L Hall; son, Chris Hall; granddaughter, Jamie Hall; parents, Archie and Ettie VanHorn; and siblings Louise Poulter and Bill VanHorn.

Anne is survived by her children, Melanie, Kevin and Michael Hall; brother, Bruce VanHorn and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Jason and Maura; great-grandchildren, Dax, Peyton and Mason; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Anne’s life will be held 2pm Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in The Chapel at Resthaven.
