Katherine V. Barrett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on September 4, 2020, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years.

Katherine V. Barrett was born on July 2, 1924, in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Cullen and Bertha Lillian (Vandever) Bunn. She grew up in Idabel, Oklahoma attending Holly Creek Elementary School, graduating from Idabel High School in 1945.

Following her education she began working for a five and Dime in Idabel. She met Cletus A. Barrett and they married on September 28, 1947, and they made their home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She began working at Tinker Air Force Base in the data processing department and was a homemaker. She later began working for Variety Health Center retiring after 25 years.

On July 29, 1992, Cletus preceded her in death and she continued to make Oklahoma City her home. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and was a very compassionate person helping those in need.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; one grandchild, Robert Justin Woods; and one great grandchild, Rayden H. Woods.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Barrett of Oklahoma City, and Colleen Johanning of Oklahoma City; one brother, Thomas Bunn of Idabel, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Ryan Woods, Michael Barrett, Chelsey Johanning, and Robyn Johanning; four great grandchildren, Lily, Annika, Alexander, and Beatrice.

The family would like to thank the good people at Brookdale and Kindful Hospice for the great care given to Katherine.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 9, 2020, in the Little Chapel of the Roses at Resthaven Memory Gardens, with Rev. Johnny Wray officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
