Freda Mae (Brune) Austin

Freda Mae (Brune) Austin was born Sept. 23, 1929, to John Louis and Mabel Grace (Heath) Brune in Cherokee. She died Sept. 1, 2012, in Norman.

She met and married Donald Taylor in 1951, and they had four children, Dee, Douglas, Darrell and Dale. In 1978, she married Robert Austin.

Freda is survived by her children, Dee and Sid Thompson of Sacramento, CA; Douglas and Diana Taylor, Yukon; Darrell and Carol Taylor of Streator, IL; and Dale Taylor of Slaughterville; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Clem and Ruth Gaines; brothers, Glen Brune, Herman Brune, J.F. Brune and Harry Brune; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, a graveside service at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Donations to American Heart Association or the local nurses association. To share condolences, please visit ResthavenOkc.com
