Raymond LeRoy McCullough
February 26, 1927 ~ April 10, 2020


Raymond LeRoy McCullough, of Apache, was born February 26, 1927, in Mountain View, Oklahoma to Lois Gordon and Emma Bell [Neil] McCullough. He passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020, at his home on Good Friday. He was 93.

. Limited viewing will be available at Crews Funeral Home on Monday, April 13, from noon until 7:00 PM and Tuesday, April 14, from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. A private family graveside is scheduled and a memorial service will be held at a later time to celebrate his going home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crews Funeral Home.

Raymond proudly served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

. He married Helma Bell Base on December 15, 1945.

Raymond helped to build churches and wanted to help people in any way he could. He faithfully read his Bible.

He enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting. He loved to fish. He also enjoyed being with friends and taking his dog, Biscuit, for rides. He also loved to farm. Most of all, he loved his family.

When he finally retired he gave up his farming and traded it in for his lawn equipment. Anything to make him feel like he was farming again. He worked up until the day Jesus took him up to his everlasting home.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jauanna Boydstun; several brothers and sisters.

Raymond is survived by his childhood sweet heart and wife helma for 75 years; son, Willie Ray McCullough of Apache; grandchildren: Todd and wife Summer McCullough of Apache, Jina and husband Jason Mindemann of Apache, Tina and husband Justin Lindsey of Fort Cobb, Stacy and husband David Dennington of Stecker, and Kristi and husband John Cunningham of Apache; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Wilma Floreo of Wichita Falls, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Helma Lanora [Base] McCullough
June 29, 1926 ~ May 19, 2020


Helma Lanora "Base" McCullough, of Apache, Oklahoma, was born on June 29, 1926, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Willie and Minnie Base. She passed away on May 19, 2020, at her home at the age of 93.

Helma married the love of her life, Raymond LeRoy McCullough on December 15, 1945. They had two children, William Ray McCullough and the late Juanna Sue Boydstun.

She worked very hard on saving and gathering farm equipment while her husband was overseas. When he returned, she had everything needed for them to start their lifelong dream of farming. She worked side by side with Raymond hauling hay and wheat, driving trucks and tractors for endless hours. Raymond used to say she was irreplaceable because she was the best wheat hauler he ever had and no one could replace her. She even managed to cook and deliver all meals to the field.

She enjoyed their traveling adventures, fishing, hunting, antiquing, singing in church, and mostly gathering with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Minnie Base; her sisters; daughter, Juanna Sue Boydstun; and her husband, Raymond LeRoy McCullough.

Helma is survived by her son, William Ray McCullough of Apache; grandchildren: Todd and wife Summer McCullough of Apache, Jina and husband Jason Mindemann of Apache, Tina and husband Justin Lindsey of Fort Cobb, Stacy and husband David Dennington of Stecker, and Kristi and husband John Cunningham of Apache; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, May 22, at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Cemetery with John Cahill officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crews Funeral Home.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
