Jewell Clareleen Murray, daughter of Clarence and Naomi (Thompson) Hastings, was born on March 21, 1960 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 20, 2017 at her home in Watts, Oklahoma at 57 years of age.

She was a homemaker with three children and worked at various careers throughout her lifetime. Jewell enjoyed being a caregiver; later in life her focus was directed towards her grandchildren: Mac Doyle Murray, Zander Sage Scott and was looking forward to her third grandson, Riggs Eugene Garman. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, much like her mother, Naomi. Whatever life afforded Jewell, she was able to create a positive experience for herself and her family.

Jewell was preceded in death by her father: Clarence Hastings and her sister: Kathleen Foreman.

She leaves loving memories to be cherished by her son: Derrick Scott and wife Chloe of Stilwell, daughters: Ashley Murray and Maegan Murray, mother: Naomi Hastings, brother: Kenneth Glenn Hastings, all of Westville, sister: Reba Bird and husband Willard, aunt: Modean Hammer and husband Dick of Chewey, grandsons: Mac, Zander and Riggs, uncle: Leon Thompson and wife Zelma of Cushing. Many other relatives and friends also survive her.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 25, 2017 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, Oklahoma with Brother John Hammer officiating. Interment followed at Foreman Cemetery, Westville, Oklahoma
