ELDON PUMMEL

December 9, 1950 - January 15, 2018

Eldon L. Pummel, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at his home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the Bible Baptist Church in Woodward with Reverend Jesse Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Eldon Leon Pummel was born December 9, 1950 in Woodward, Oklahoma; he was the son of Wayne and Evelyn (Payne) Pummel. He grew up in Woodward, graduating from Woodward High School in 1970. On January 13, 1971, Eldon was married to Karla White in Woodward. They made their home in Woodward. Eldon worked as a grader operator for Woodward County for 28 years, retiring on February 1, 2016. While working for the County, Eldon helped fight wild fires in Northwest Oklahoma all throughout his career.

He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Eldon enjoyed fishing, hunting, coyote hunting and camping in the mountains. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Karla of the home; one son, Sheldon Pummel and wife December; two daughters, Krystal Fuqua and husband Ryon; Kendra Pummel; one brother Gary Pummel and wife Arleta Ruth; three sisters, Arleta Watson; Waynona Covalt and husband Delbert; Adeline Eaves and husband Larry; three brothers-in-law, Wayne Campbell and wife Nina; John Ball; Kevin White and wife Christine; three grandchildren, Shelly Dawn Pummel, Gavon Cord Fuqua, Sheradon Wayne Pummel; mother-in-law, Mary Fern Stewart and husband; numerous other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marilyn Ball and Veetrice Campbell; father-in-law Ken White and brothers-in-law Ray Watson and Kerry White.
