Jean White, 84, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 surrounded by her family, after a long, full and interesting life. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Mooreland Cemetery.
Doris Jean (Miller) White was born February 23, 1931 to Melvin T. and Myrtle May Miller at her grandparents, George and Amy Burkhart’s home 20 miles north of Mooreland. Jean attended 1st through 8th grade at Dillon District 88 School, 15 miles north of Mooreland. She graduated from Mooreland High School in May of 1949.
Jean was united in marriage to Dean White in June of 1949 and to this union two children were born, Ronald Dean and Randa Jean.
Jean was well known for her creativity, which manifested itself in many directions, but it shined brilliantly when she was sharing it. From china painting, water color, oil paint or fabric arts, to myriads of other projects, Jean displayed her work at the library or wherever people could enjoy it. She also loved teaching her craft to the community, but most of all to anyone that had an interest. Jean loved gardening and took the Master Gardening Course in 2014. She loved to play games of any kind and if you ever had the chance to play with her you know she came to win. She loved to quilt and to share her love of quilting. She liked to play pool and croquet, and she loved watching western movies. Jean loved people and spending time with family and friends, she loved making people laugh.
She is survived by her son Ronnie White and wife Donna of Mooreland; one daughter, Randa Jean Sims of Yukon; grandchildren, Rachell Bowers and husband Joe of Mustang; Troy White and wife Gina of Mooreland; Tiffany Schultz and husband Lance of Shattuck; Kristin Stinnett of Mooreland; Rob Sims and wife Teresa of Aline; great-grandchildren, Carrie Jean and Emery of Mustang; Hunter, Cooper, and Tyson of Mooreland; Gatlin and Allyn of Shattuck; Jackson and Addison of Mooreland; Mylee, Rylee, and Garrett of Aline; two sisters, Jo Miller; Joyce Irving; one brother, Jack Miller; countless other close friends and family.
Jean’s humor was loved by all, and she always had a joke ready to brighten anyone’s day. Of course no one could ever forget her Bag Lady Act that she presented to churches and civic organizations or she perform it anywhere someone would let her. She is probably entertaining the Angels in Heaven now with her jokes and stories. What a tribute to her memory that we can always smile or chuckle when we think of her.
