Carl Norman Phillips, son of Jesse and Edna (Moore) Phillips was born January 11, 1918 in Marble (Carroll County), Arkansas. When he was a year old the family moved to Oklahoma settling in the Silver Springs community south of Freedom where Carl and his brothers and sisters attended school.
