Lakata (Keta) Peacock, 58 year old Quinlan resident, passed away Thursday, Decmeber 13, 2018 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.

Lakata Marlene (Baxter) Peacock was born September 29, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ovid and Joy Ann (Ashcroft) Baxter. Keta grew up in Oklahoma City and Mooreland. She was united in marriage to Alan Peacock on November 22, 1980 in Waynoka, Oklahoma, after they were set up on a blind date. They made their first home in Mooreland, but lived in Waynoka and other towns before moving back to Mooreland in 1993.

Keta loved all animals, she was known to take in strays and take care of them. Her greatest love was her family, especially her sons and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Alan Peacock of the home; two sons, Chris Lee Baxter of Quinlan, Scott Edward Peacock of Quinlan; three grandchildren: Michael Scott Peacock, Haley Renae Peacock, and LilyMae Rose Peacock; two sisters, Anita Cox of Oklahoma City, Markata Baxter of Woodward; numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Joy Ann Baxter in 2016, her dad Ovid Baxter, one sister, Karla Peacock, and two grandchildren, David Alan Peacock and Matthew Blake Peacock.
