Addie Porter Patton

November 6, 1946 ~ October 9, 2018

Addie Patton, 71 year old Mooreland resident, passed away, Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward. Burial will follow in the Curtis Cemetery.

Addie Lora (Porter) Patton was born in the Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, Oklahoma on November 6, 1946. She was the last of six children born to Earl Moses and Zula Mae (McCullough) Porter. She was raised in Arnett, Oklahoma and attended the Arnett Schools. Addie loved roller skating and that was where she met the one and only man she would spend the rest of her life with. On February 27, 1965, she married Gary Ray Patton. To this union, a special son was born Mark Alan Patton. They made their home in Mooreland and have lived there since that time.

She played softball with the Mooreland Women’s team in the Kids Inc. League for many years. She then played with the Woodward Genettes for four years. Addie was a Cub Scout leader for three years. She then worked for the Snack Shack, Wax Factory, Mooreland Hospital and Easy Pick until she retired.

She and Gary worked on the farm fixing corrals and fences, feeding cows and working them and pulling windmills.

After getting married she learned to crochet and made many Afghans. She also started making sleep mats for the homeless.

Addie was a member of Queen Esther #117, Order of the Eastern Star and Friends of the Stars since February of 1986.

She is survived by her husband Gary Ray Patton of the home; one son Mark Alan Patton and wife Beth of Mooreland; granddaughters: Ashley Nikole Patton of Mooreland, Sarah Renee Patton and Austin Griffith of Dallas, Texas; her precious great-granddaughter, Lilian Beth Patton, who referred to Addie as (GiGi); one sister, Zula Marjorie Weatherford; one sister-in-law, Betty Nickels Porter; two brothers: John Ralph Porter and wife Bertha, William (Billy) Reagan Porter and wife Pat; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws and two brothers, Don Richard Porter and Earl Marvin Porter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Kidney Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
