Majorie Ellen Hill McDowell

Marjorie McDowell, 96 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.

Marjorie Ellen (Hill) McDowell was born on November 3, 1928 in Curtis, Oklahoma to Clyde Ray and Isel N. (Mason) Hill. She grew up in Curtis and attended Curtis schools. Marjorie was united in marriage to Robert Crawford on January 3, 1947. They were blessed with Bobby, Carol, Connie, and Ray. Robert preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Verle "Skeet" McDowell on December 9, 1962. They made their home in Mooreland. Skeet brought Doug, Danny and Pala into the marriage. Marjorie worked at the Egg Plant in Mooreland, during World War II, Cowden's Manufacturing and the Palamino Restaurant. She retired from the Mooreland Cafe after working there for 29 years.

She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, traveling, and coloring. Marjorie loved spending time with her family.

Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Carol Gastineau and husband John; two sons: Ray Crawford and wife Lori, Danny McDowell and wife Barbara; son in law, Gerald Farmer; brothers: Roscoe Hill, Paul Hill; sisters: Joyce McDowell, Jeanie Decker and husband Duane; brother-in-law Dale Haskins; grandchildren: Brooks Crawford and wife Carla, Melodie Frey and husband Andy, Derek Crawford and wife Becky, Trent Gastineau and wife Melissa, Ashley Gastineau, Clark Crawford and wife Jordyn, Kelsey Ellis and husband Dillon, Aubrey McDowell and husband Travon, Zachary McDowell and wife Jessica, Shawn McDowell and wife Katrina, Shannon Bergeron and husband Robbie, Shane McDowell; 25 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; special great niece Kaylon Gaskill; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Crawford, her husband Skeet McDowell, sons, Bobby Crawford, Doug McDowell, daughters Connie Crawford and Pala Farmer, brothers, Chuck Hill, Bill Hill and his wife Wilma, Dale Hill and wife Simmie, Don Hill and wife Roberta, Wayne Hill and wife Betty, sister, Janice Haskins, sisters-in-law, Gladys Hill, Linda Hill, and Ann Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Skilled Nursing and Therapy or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Parkinson Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
