Norman Lee HosierNorman L. Hosier, 70 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, March 27, 2009 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in the United Methodist Church in Mooreland with the Reverend David Mercer officiating. Interment will be in the Mooreland Cemetery with the United States Air Force providing military graveside rites. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home, Mooreland.

Norman Lee Hosier was born July 11, 1938 in a two story building across from the courthouse in Arnett, Oklahoma to Eugene and Elva (Howard) Hosier. Norman grew up north of Gage for a number of years and then the family moved into Gage. He attended Luther Hill School and Gage schools, graduating from Gage High School in 1956. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. Norman received his Bachelor of Science Degree in General Business Economics at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He received his Masters in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. As a young man he delivered newspapers for the Grit and the Daily Oklahoman, he worked in a grocery store carrying out groceries, farm laborer and helped build the second cooling tower at Western Farmers Electric Cooperative.

Norman was united in marriage to Delnita Teter on February 14, 1970 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They made their first home in the Carpenter Trailer Villa west of Woodward. They lived between Morris, Oklahoma and Stillwater during graduate school, before moving back to Woodward. They moved to the farm near Mooreland in 1973 and have lived there since that time.

In the late 1960's, Norman went to work at the Western State Hospital in Fort Supply. He worked as a Social Worker and a Rehab Counselor. Norman worked there until his retirement in 2000.

Norman was Baptized in the Baptist Church in Arnett. He later joined the United Methodist Church in Mooreland. He was also a member of the American Legion. Norman enjoyed visiting with family and friends and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, helping people, economics and the oil business.

He is survived by his wife Delnita Hosier of the home; one son Norman Hosier, Jr. and wife Melinda of Woodward; two daughters, Pat Burrow and husband Richard of Mooreland; Angie Smith and husband Jeff of Woodward; one brother Ed Hosier of Guymon; four grandchildren, Lauren Burrow, Natalie Hosier, Lakin Burrow, and Erica Mae Smith; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Edna Mae Wheeler.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland United Methodist Church Building Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.

Delnita Hosier, 71 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at her home in Mooreland. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Mooreland.

Delnita Lou (Teter) Hosier was born on July 26, 1947 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Delbert Leroy and Edna Mae (Buck) Teter-Wheeler. Delnita grew up in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School in 1965. She then attended Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics. She was united in marriage to Norman Lee Hosier, Sr. on February 14, 1970 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Woodward before moving to Stillwater and later settling in Mooreland.

She was a Social Worker at Fort Supply, an inspector at the Fruit of the Loom Factory, the Activities Director at the Mooreland Golden Age Nursing Home, and a housewife, and a very caring, supportive grandma.

Delnita was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making outfits, costumes, and snacks for her granddaughters, quilting, canning, and baking. She loved traveling with family, spending time with grandkids and helping with their projects, baking pies, cinnamon rolls, and bierox for neighbors, friends, and family. Delnita was a member of the Altrusa Club, Work and Play Club, OHCE, and Girl Scouts.

She is survived by one son, Norman Lee Hosier, Jr. and wife Melinda; two daughters, Pat Burrow and husband Richard, Angie Horton and husband James; five grandchildren: Lauren Burrow, Natalie Hosier, Lakin Burrow, Erica Smith, and Jessica Smith; and many dear and special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Patsy Colleen Teter and Anita Wilson, brother Lowell Teter, a nephew Kevin Greeson, and a great nephew Cody Greeson.

Delnita did things her way all the way to her passing!
